"For You Are Good"

I love that song. Recently I noticed Satan attacking me with lies when times are difficult. Most recently this has been when the girls are crying incessantly while I am trying to get the house ready to show. My heart beat rises, I start sweating, and then the lies and resentment toward my situation (read "God") come. "Why do I have to do this!? Too much. I can't handle this. Can you at least make Gianna fall asleep!" OK, this attitude is not glorifying to God, exemplifies lack of faith, and resists pruning. All of the sudden I just started singing. "For you are good, for you are good, for you are good to me." I sang it for the full 30 minutes it took me to clean the house, and though my situation did not change, (the girls didn't really stop crying), my mind did not allow negative thoughts to enter. They tried. My words stopped them cold. And my attitude was much better! Praise Jesus for "a way of escape".

Anyways, I thought I'd share, so that anyone else struggling with Satan's attacks could have a breastplate...isn't it the breastplate of truth? I don't know. My Bible is not near.

That is a wonderful way to handle your stress! Isn't is awesome the way the Holy Spirit gives us words/songs like that?
